Cleaning out the sewing room... well sorta

I look at all I put in the sewing room and wonder WHY is it all in there...then I remember...a a a a a
I am supposed to do something with it...
So I pulled out this little chair that has been under bench covered up with stuff. It was nasty looking. My sis in law was going to throw it away and I latched on to it. I has a few tears and was missing a cushion...well YEARS later I have finally fixed it....need to dig out a before shot. I think I have one somewhere
this is one of those child sized chairs. Some of the grandkids are still small enough to sit in it.

DECEMBER ATLAST!

Tis the season to catch the flu, fa la la la la la la la la
Whenever anyone asks me "have you had your flu shot yet?" I simply tell them NO, I CAUGHT THE STINKIN STUFF WITHOUT IT!".  There I have that off my chest. I am now in my 3RD MONTH of feeling like death warmed over. This latest has not knocked the props out and I can function but I would just as soon not have it at all.  My hubby and the Brat have had it too... so much fun NOT!
Been working on designs and even got a few done but OH MY this one set has given me a royal headache. So many changes and fixes and after stitching the set myself I see a few little things I need to check.  I love them too much to NOT keep on them till they are near perfect.  Each design in the set takes 3 hours to stitch on the slowest speed. This barring thread breaks or being called away from the machine.  But I did them all in less then a week.  I had my other machine going doing some things I needed and worked on cleaning my sewing room so it was not wasted time sitting there watching... though I do like to do that.  It is neat to watch the pictures take form in front of your eyes. I did them on Olive fabric so that I could make a dress border out of it. The dress is just finished and I have not photographed them yet, but I will .  here is an example of some of them...

Now if I can just get all my sewing done...yeah right, sure. LOL  But atleast I got my Christmas shopping done and most wrapped...

October is a weird month

Well here I be again. Another month has been and gone. The government has shut down.
I decided to alter two dresses for my granddaughter.  Well I entered the sewing room and found a gift from the pup. But it had been so long since I went in there it had started to fossilize.  Then I went to find my boots to get them cleaned up for winter. I found one had been pulled under the dresser by the dust bunnies and they were using it for a house of ill repute!  Nasty little critters.

Once a month ain't too bad.

Okay so it has been a whole month since I posted here.  I just got too many irons in the fire and dust bunnies in the house.  So I am spreading myself out.
Anyone here ever used a Neat Receipts Desk top scanner?  I have one and the latest software and guess what...I can hang it up in an instant. Leave it to me. But I gotta do something about all these paper files. costs me a mint each year in folders, and paper and ink and then how or where to put it all... Not gonna put up with it anymore...

Ya'll have a great day okay?

I LIVE!!!

The things you have to do to feel better.  I kept checking my sugar... too high. No not out of orbit but higher then what I normally run. I know stress, pain and sickness can make them run higher, but my BP was up to.  SOOOOOO   I went LOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Carb.  I mean LOW.  I don't even want to look at them. My feet swelling has stopped and my cravings for sugar is undercontrol and I feel like doing something again.  Amazing what cutting out bread, sugar and other assorted carbs can do.  Is it worth it? Is living worth it?  You be the judge.

I got some I-Pads to sell...LOL

Okay I MIGHT get something done today...

Sick of being sick!

I want to LIVE!!!!!
Okay enough of the dramatics. I have been very under the weather, under the floor, under the sea, under the bed, under the covers, under living.  There now that I have that out.
When you get old and gray and you feel old and dead, life just kind of passes you by.  So I have been NOT getting anything done much. I hope that changes now...
My garden is growing and my flowers blooming... yay!

Pete KNOWS how I love to buy fabric.  One day I will post a picture of my wall of fabric. That is when I can clear a path to it.

Been absent, not willingly

SHINGLES!.  can I hear a collective gasp?!! I am a dum dum. When the rash showed up on my hand I  thought, "If I can get that rash cleared up , I am home free." So I kept anti-itch creams and lotions on it and I only have one faint reddish patch now...BUT, when the rash started to clear, the PAIN hit. My whole body feels like I been in a fight and the fight is continuing without me defending myself.  And SO tired.  After reading up on it, because it was on my hand and not near my face, I am not in danger from complications. The meds they give will not shorten it or relieve it. The body has to take care of it.  Well this body needs a swift kick!

Needles to say, sewing has not been top priority.  I have not digitized but one design. I feel whupped after being up a couple hours. So when I need to go to town, I start early and get er done. I am getting up earlier so I am hopefully catching up on the rest. My naps are shorter but still needed. My house?  I don't even wanna look at it.  I have a quilt to get done, shoot I have a quilt to even get started!

I finished the second one late but #3 grandson did not mind.
I used sheets with the angry bird print on them. I searched and couldn't find regular fabric with that design.  Only fleece, not what I wanted.  So here is what I ended up with.

While he and older brother stayed with me for a week, his mom redid their bedroom.  He saw the quilt as I was finishing it and wouldn't even let me embroider his name on it...he wanted it THEN.  So he got it.  This was a quilt as you go project.

Blustery Day

Outside my window the wind is blowing hard, the sun is shinning and it is COOL.  I read the news and it is depressing, then I look to the sky for my hope cometh from on high and I am uplifted and happy.  I could be stricken with cancer or be unable to move at all. I AM BLESSED!.

I am behind in my digitizing and quilt sewing and want to play with dolls.  But FIRST it is to town to buy dog food. They eat a better balanced diet then I do.

It isn't the clearest shot but you can see a visitor to the feeder that hangs on my office window.  Makes the sitting I have to do more enjoyable.

The Lord's Day

It is the Lord's day and I am glad to be alive. Ever laugh outloud or get a big grin on your face for no apparent (to others) reason because you had a funny thought?  I do.
Proverbs 17:22
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
A great cure for depressing thoughts too.
I committed myself to making quilts for all my grandkids for their birthdays this year. This was the first one...I am on the 2nd one now.

My youngest grandson turned 4 last month. His momma says NO ONE dares mess with HIS quilt. I am doing the quilts as a quilt as you go method. Easier for me to handle.  The designs were from a set I made with a few extra done just for this quilt.  The backing is a sheet and it has cotton batting inside.
Well it is off to church.  See ya later!

Here I go.

Oh man, you think I would have enough to do but now I am starting another blog.  Yes another. I have one for my dolls and I  am a contributor on another about dolls. Now as long as I remember to say anything I will be doing good don't ya think?
Don't you think these are cute?  I did the designs for the Full Moon Madness I am a part of each month. My friend LaVonne did these onsies with them.  They came out really great!
